We took Eli and Preston to the Pumpkin patch last night and they had so much fun...well Eli had so much fun and Preston put up with all the picture taking.  Sad thing is we never got a picture of the 2 boys together but we did get some great family shots.

A particularly WONDERFUL work weekend

I don't usually share my work on this blog, I like to keep it separate over here, but this last weekend I was particularly in love with the wedding I worked on.  The bride was amazingly sweet and the details that she and her coordinator, my fav Courtney at After the Engagement, put together were divine!  Pure perfection!  I loved every bit of it and wish it had been my BIG DAY!!!

These are just a few shots I stole from the brides FB page...

Really looking forward to seeing all the pictures from Vitaly M Photography.

Eli's Birthday Party

My Baby turned 1 year old today!

I know everyone says this but I just can't believe how fast 1 year went by, it makes me sad.  We had such a wonderful day celebrating last Saturday.

After the party ended a few friends and family stayed to watch a Bugs Life on our back wall.  It was so much fun to sit out under the stars and watch a movie on our own "Big Screen".  It was such a wonderful day and Eli really seemed to enjoy every bit of it.

1 year portraits

We did a photoshot for Eli's 1st birthday yesterday and I love they way the pictures turned out.

We tried to do a little smash cake with a cupcake but Eli didn't seem that interested in the cupcake.

I can't believe my baby is already 1.  More on that later.

Shutterfly albums

Has anyone seen the new layouts for the new Shutterfly Custom Path photobooks?  It's like scrapbooking on your computer, I love it!  I have been making an "Eli's 1st Year" book for Eli's 1st Birthday and I am in love with all the features offered by these books.  Here are a few screen shots of what I have been working on.

I am having so much fun going through all of Eli's pictures and remembering all those precious moments.  I can't wait till it is all done and in my hands to look at over and over.

P.S.  I am not writing about Shutterfly because of any promotion, I just love their photobook program and all its features.

Backyard Chickens!!!!!

Our newest venture...BACKYARD CHICKENS!!!

Not sure about it but I am accepting it with open arms.  A few years ago...pre-Eli...I watched a Martha Stewart episode about Backyard Chickens and I was all for it.  I was gonna get some chickens, have fresh eggs and be an urban farmer.  Now, I have a 1 year old, a busy wedidng floral business and the thought of taking care of chickens is full of mixed emotions.

So far we have the coop about 80% built and we had 1 chicken but as of late...he is DEAD!  He ACCIDENTALLY jumped out of the box he was in and into an empty bucket of water in the flower studio.  Now I know I should never leave empty buckets with water around because Eli could fall in them but it was a busy wedding weekend and I forgot to empty them.  I never imagined the poor chicken would try to go for a swim!  Poor guy!

We are planning to get about 3 or 4 chickens and this is the little coop we have built.  My sister in law and brother in law are mostly going to be in charge of them but I am sure I will be happy to help here and there.

We still need to construct the door and get 2 dog houses and/or nesting boxes for the hens to lay their eggs.  I will definitely keep you all updated.

Oh and this is what little Mister was up to while we were building...getting dirty in true country fashion.
Oh and if you have any advice for me I would love to hear from anyone that has backyard chickens.

Pacific NW Vacay

Our trip broken down by days...
Day 1: arrived in Portland, walked around downtown Portland (especially loved the Pearl District), let Eli play in the fountain, it was HOT!

Day 2:  Headed to the Oregon coast to cool off, stopped in Astoria to browse the shops, had some clam chowder, walked along Cannon Beach

Day 3:  had breakfast with an old friend, went to the Portland Rose Garden, took Eli to play at the playground

Day4:  laid low, went on the Twilight tour in my bro-in-laws home town, Jeremy's mom (bro-in-law) had a family party so all the Oregon family could meet baby Preston

Day 5:  ventured off to Seattle, walked around Pikes Market, fell in LOVE with all the dahlias, ate lunch, watched the sunset over the Puget Sound and played in the sand

Day 6: visited the Space Needle, saw where Christian Gray lives! (totally drove by on accident), rode the ferry over to Brisbane Island, drove back to Portland

Day 7:  visited Multomanah falls, hiked in the Gorge and hung out at Punchbowl falls, watched Jeremiah cliff jump from lower Punchbowl falls

Day 8:  visited Voodoo donuts, came home :(

We definitely look forward to going back and had such a wonderful time with my sister, Jeremy and his family.
