Finalized

MAY 16, 2009 in Calistoga, CA!!!!!

So the final decision is to have the wedding on May 16th at 2 seperate locations in Calistoaga.

The ceremony is going to be at the Calistoga Cottage and the reception is going to be at the Tucker Farm Center which is a really cute old country dance hall. I am very excited and can't wait to start planning all the details.
That is all I have for now because I am off to pick out my veil :).

Updated Exquisite Blooms

I have updated both my website and my work blog...
http://www.exquisiteblooms.com/
http://www.exquisiteblooms.blogspot.com/
Here is a picture from the update, love the way the colors look.

Nothing new on the wedding planning front right now, I am staying busy contacting leads from the Bridal Bazaar and making appointments. My mom, sister and I go to Calistoga next week so I will get the site confirmed and booked and then really start planning all the fun little details. So far some of my random ideas are...

  • gray table linens with a yellow and white patterned runner
  • vintage crystal dishes for the table: creamer/sugar, butter plates and s & p shakers
  • white soy candles in vintage crystal pieces all different shapes and sizes
  • lots of twinkly lights around
  • seating for dinner down in an orchard in the trees
  • natural, organic, eclectic, vintage setting

Not really dissappointed, just more disturbed

Ok, so we went to see Revolutionary Road starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet a couple nights ago and like the blog title says, I was not disappointed but more disturbed. It was Leo and Kate's reunion on screen and I have to say I have an icky feeling now. I love both as actors because they are great and I recently saw Kate Winslet on Leno and I think she seems really nice and very funny but in this movie she was disturbing. Now I won't get into plot or story line because I don't want to spoil the movie but I will say that I was hoping for some more strong LOVE like in Titanic. A love that can over come anything and that will last through time, Revolutionary Road definitely did not deliver that.

It was definitely award worthy with the intense acting and of course the controversy (what award winning movie doesn't have controversy?) but it doesn't make you leave saying, "Wow, that was a great film." It makes you leave saying, "hmmm, that was...hmmm." I respect the movie for what it was and the art of the film but it made me feel sad and scared and DISTURBED! Really that is all that I will say because I cannot discuss it without giving to much away but that is my little review. I'm not saying that it was a bad movie, I think it is very worthy of any acclaim, it was just not what I thought it was about. As a matter of fact, a lot of big movies these days are keeping the suspense so that you will go see it and then they shock you in the theatre. Good tactic I guess.
P.S. I will say that Leo was "so pretty" in this movie :)

Movies

In case you didn't know, one of my favorite things to do is go to the movies. I love seeing them, analyzing them and discussing them with Jeremiah. I just LOVE the movies!!! As a matter of fact, I have been to the movies 3 times in the last 4 days...I don't have any money but I still find a way to go :).

My Favorites:
Favorite Actor: Leonardo DiCaprio
(favorite movies of Leo-Romeo+Juliet, Gangs of New York, The Departed, Blood Diamond)

Favorite Actress: old school Meg Ryan (not the new plastic face Meg)
(favorite movies of Meg-French Kiss, You've Got Mail)

Favorite Movie: Sweet Home Alabama

Favorite Movie Line: "Oooh, beautiful, gorgeous, wish you were here!!!"
(if you know what movie this is from leave a comment)

Sooooo, the latest movie that I have seen is "Bride Wars". It was very cute and very funny; definitely an A in my book. It will be a good one to add to my "girl movies" collection.

What I am reall excited to see though is, "Revolutionary Road"!!! I have been waiting a while for this movie to come out in theatres and was really hoping that Leo was going to win the Golden Globe for best actor tonight. Sadly at the time I write this, Mickey Rourke of "The Wrestler" won :(. I haven't even seen either movies so I really should have no opinion but I love Leo so I wanted him to win.

I have had tentative plans to see "Revolutionary Road" twice but it has not been released to all theatres yet and is only playing at the Landmark theatre in Hillcrest. This is ok, but not as convenient as running down to the local AMC at 10pm which is when I usually go to the movies. Last night when we were supposed to go see it at 10:15 pm I was just to tired to drive that far. Hopefully I will see it soon, maybe tomorrow night :).

Posting!!!

Hmmm...what to write about, I was told that I need to post more often but I find myself not knowing what to write about. Should I just share my everyday experiences with you? Like today, I woke up, went to breakfast with Elizabeth (sad she's leaving :( ), went home, researched wedding stuff on the internet, did some marketing work for Exquisite Blooms and the upcoming booth I will have at the Bridal Bazaar and then I went to the gym...now I am here trying to figure out what to write about. See what I mean, not exciting stuff.

I guess I could tell you how I went dress shopping with my mom and sister yesterday and found my wedding dress!!!! It was quite an adventure but I am very happy with my decision. However, I found it very funny that when they took my measurements, I had the bust measurement of a size 2-4 dress and the rear measurement of a size 10 dress!!! My proportions seem to be a little off!!! The consultant even said, "that's not right, let me take those measurements again." That made me feel really good about myself :), but I was in such a good mood that it didn't really bother me and I just laughed. I was thinking about putting a picture on here but I don't want to because Jeremiah reads this sometimes and I don't want him to see it.

What else...what else...Elizabeth, my (future) sister-in-law is moving to Texas this week which makes me very sad :(. But at the very same time Marcie another one of my (future) sister-in-laws just moved here because her husband is going to law school so that is fun and exciting.

Let's see...there's got to be more...hmmm...nope, I guess that's it. I will leave you with the vision board for the wedding and a quote on change.

People grow through experience if they meet life honestly and courageously. This is how character is built. -Elenor Roosevelt
