The lovely Chrystal Cienfuegos photographed some lovely pictures of little Preston right after he was born and while she was at my sisters house she shot these gorgeous pictures of Preston's nursery. It is so chic and cute while still being so lovely and baby. Plus, its yellow and gray, my favorite!!!
I wish this was my room!

I am finally DONE!
The Nursery is COMPLETE! I am sure I will move some minor things around here and there but this is the final design. Here it is...
So as I said a few posts ago, I took down the closet doors and hung these curtains that match the bedding and I hung blue curtains with sheers for some privacy. I also hung the prints from this Etsy store that spell out ELI.
I put down the baseboards which was a long process but not too bad in the end, if I had anymore energy left I would finish the rest of the house but I have a feeling that I am done until after Eli is born, and then who knows how long it will take to get the energy to do them after that.
And lastly, I made some tissue paper pom poms and hung them with some paper stars above the crib and in the corner by the changing table/dresser. I was going for this look.
I am so happy with it and I love all the colors, now I just can't wait for him to be here so we can hold him and kiss him!
The finished list...

Another Nursery update
Are you tired of nursery and baby posts yet? I'm getting more and more excited so I hope that I'm not boring you cause I am having fun. I have a few updated pictures to share, not "done" pictures but "in progress" pictures. First up, like I said in my update from yesterday, I painted the cabinets above the closet and the surrounding trim high gloss white. Here are the before and afters...
So I know the pictures look awfully plain here but I will be taking down the doors and hanging to printed curtains that match the crib bedding just as soon as I run to Target and get some rods to hang on the inside of the closet ledge, then it will look lots more FUN! (BTW, that weird cabinet wall thingy on the Left is an old fold out ironing board cabinet with the ironing board in it but the lever on it is broken so it is un-usable; it does add to the old charm though, doesn't it?)
The next thing that was accomplished yesterday was that our new living room rug came in so I decided to try the old rug out in the nursery. I am not 100% sold but for now it works and actually warms the room up a little. Oh and please ignore the pile of car seat boxes/strollers/swings in the pictures, that is where the rocker/recliner will go and we have yet to install the car seat so it is just sitting there with the other misc items that need to be placed or put together.
Today, I am going to attempt "Operation Baseboards" because I am tired of complaining about them and just ready to have them installed. Wish me luck!
Oh and if you are curious about that the new living room rug looks like, here is a wide shot and a cute picture of Maddy making herself comfy on it.

Nursery TO-DO List
(I've already accomplished some of these since I posted this earlier today!)
In order to finish the nursery I have the following to do:
The collection of books on the lower shelf is actually my sister and I's books from when we were little and the teddy bear on the top right is my bear Patches from when I was a little girl; he actually went off to college with Jeremiah back in 1998. It was fun to fill the shelves with things from the past and I am not sure if it will all stay up there but for now I am satisfied.
As far as the rest of the room, here are some of the areas mentioned above that need to be completed...
This is the closet area where I need to paint the cabinets and surrounding area with high gloss white paint and then I am going to take the doors off and hang curtains that match the crib bedding, from Dwell Studios at Target.
This is the ceiling corner where I will be hanging the orange pom poms and paper star lanterns to fill in the dead space and will be a nice contrast to the blue curtains that have yet to be hung.
Oh and since I have never shared the finished dresser here it is all pretty and white. I can't find a before shot but it was a light golden wood color before (notice the lack of baseboards on the floor).
That's all I have for now.
:)
In order to finish the nursery I have the following to do:
paint the closet cabinets glossy white- hang the curtains over the windows
- hang the printed curtains for the closet doors
- put down the baseboards
- order these prints from Sea Urchin Studio on Etsy to hang above the crib
find an area rug...got a new rug for the living room and it arrived today so I just put the old living room one in the nursery- wait for the rocker/recliner to come in
- decide what sort of art to hang on the wall above the rocker/recliner (collage, canvas maternity shot, etc)
- make orange pom poms out of tissue paper to hang with paper star lanterns in the corner next to the shelves

Sneak Peak Nursery
Ok, so I only have the crib complete but I am already getting so excited to see baby Eli sleeping in it!!! My mom and I were going to make the bedding ourselves but as my due date is quickly approaching, the idea of one more project seemed too hard. Instead I decided to go on target.com to find something cute, anyone notice how Target.com has even cuter stuff online than in the store? Anyway, I found this set and decided it was perfect.
It introduces orange to the color scheme which I LOVE LOVE LOVE and decided that spending $80 for a set is well worth the cost and a much better idea than making everything from scratch.
The crib I got on craigslist.com for $40 brand new in the box! Steal! However, it came walnut so Jeremiah had to paint it semi-gloss white. Don't worry, I checked online and asked the guys at Home Depot and they told me that spray painting a crib is perfectly safe and Lead free. Actually the Home Depot paint guys exact words were, "Do you know where the paint on cribs from stores come from? China! You don't even want to know what is in that stuff" and I totally agree. Plus the crib rails came with plastic guards so if Eli turns out to be a chewer, he will only be able to chew on plastic and not paint. Soooo, without further adieu, here is the crib...
I love it so much and all I want to do is go in there and look at it :):):). By the way, that cute baby blue elephant in the crib is from Eli's sweet cousin Ethan who specially picked it out for him because thier names start with E's and so does Elephant :).
My mom came over yesterday and painted his dresser for me and it is in the room but I am waiting for the paint to cure a little more before I place things on it and decorate it; those pictures to follow soon. Count down begins...only 1 month and 6 days till our due date!

Baby Boy G Nursery
So this is what I have so far.
I love it, it is the perfect mix of baby and will match the rest of our home decor perfectly.
I actually have left over paint from when I painted the kitchen, I bought 2 gallons and only need 1/2 a gallon, so I am ready to start painting. I have the crib which I bought brand new in the box on craigslist for $40 and now I am on the hunt for the dresser which will serve as the dresser/changing table.
I am reconsidering the rug color though because our floors are actually chocolate colored hardwood flooring so the rug would just get lost, I will probably go for something like a taupe or maybe a cool blue print design.
For the bedding, I love the one on the picture but I think I might attempt making my own bedskirt and bumper since this one is $280 for the 2 pieces. I think I can do it and if not, I know my aunt can :).
Besides that I just need the rocker, which is pretty expensive, and thats it. The room is tiny so I won't be able to get much in there anyway, a few accessories here and there but not much. Can't wait to get it started in the next few months.
Crib: Jenny Lind Crib
Bedding: Linen Baby
Rocking Chair: Carolina Cottage
Pillow: Walmart
Dresser: Eco Friendle Home
Rug: Shaggy Raggy
Fabric: Dahlia

Cute prints
I was browsing Etsy today and found these prints...
I also found and love this one, plus these are the colors I want to use in Baby G's nursery.
(these are from the Etsy seller, trafalgarssquare)
I think they are perfect for a baby boys nursery. I love them! I also found and love this one, plus these are the colors I want to use in Baby G's nursery.

Feeling baby boy inspired today :) Currently working on an inspiration board that I hope to share soon. We are also working on names, middle name has been decided (big story behind that one) but we haven't nailed down a 1st name yet. I have a heavy contender but have to do some final discussing with Jeremiah. Once we decide though that will be it I think, for the most part once I make up my mind on something, I start envisioning things that way and it sticks. Lets see if its the same for our babys name.
