The Big Bang Theory

No, I am not going to discuss creation with you so don't get your hopes up that this is a highly intelligent blog or anything :). I just have to tell you that I love the TV sitcom The Big Bang Theory. It is a show about 4 scientists/nerds and their hilarious interaction with "normal" people.

My absolute favorite is Sheldon, everything he does makes me bust up laughing. He is quirky, neurotic, dry and totally lovable.

I highly recommend watching this show, you will be laugh your head off and it something different and fresh compared to the dramas that we so often watch.

Here in San Diego it comes on at 8PM on Mondays, I think. I have it DVR-ed to record ALL episodes, not just the new ones, and it is something to watch in between all the love triangles and sex scandals of shows like Grey's and Gossip Girl. Don't get me wrong, I still love those shows but sometimes it is nice to just watch a light hearted show and have a good laugh.

Daily Blogging Goal/Online Diary

So, my new goal is to blog EVERYDAY...let's see if I can do it. I have decided that since my blog doesn't have a theme, the theme will be...Online Journal. I will try my best to log in everyday and just chat about what I am doing, thoughts I am having, goals I am accomplishing and occasional photos. Let's get started...

I have been feeling a little overwhelmed, in a good way, with my current floral jobs and planning my own wedding. I was having a hard time prioritizing and focusing with such an exciting event to plan :):):). But today, I re-focused myself. I sat down, wrote a HUGE "to-do" list and set out to accomplish as many tasks on the the list as I could. I am proud to say that I finished 1/2 which is a lot because believe me the list was LONG. I am totally a person that needs to physically see a list in front of me for me to accomplish tasks. When we were in college, Jeremiah and I had a teacher that told us he had a "semi-photographic" memory. Jeremiah still jokes about how stupid he was because everyone has a "semi-photographic" memory but secretly I really like the idea of it. As long as write something down I can envision it in my head and I will get it done. If I don't make my "to-do" list, thoughts just scramble in my head I feel like I can't focus.

On top of all that, I even went to the gym this morning all by myself!!!! I got up, checked my email and set off to get in a good work out. My sister had given me a new treadmill routine so I thought "well this should be fun." I got to the gym, picked my tread and started to run...then it happened. the routine was to start at level 3 and every minute bump up one level till you get to level 8, then you move back down to level 5 and start again up to level 8 every minute until you reach 20 minutes, then cool down. Ok, so it started out going good, I was working up a sweat and I could really feel the burn . However, when I got to level 8 on the 2nd time around I fell!!! Level 8 was proving to be to fast for me so I hopped my feet to the plastic outside railings next to the belt but my right foot slipped and subsequently my left foot went with it and dragged on the belt as I clung onto the treadmill with my right arm pit for dear life. I jumped up pretty fast and lowered the speed and regained my stride but I was very embarrassed and very close to tumbling off the treadmill and hitting the back wall. I didn't want to look around to see if anyone saw but I am sure they did, very embarrassing!!!

Well good night :)

My favorite poem

Years and years ago when I was fresh out of college and got a job as a mortgage loan officer at a little office in Chula Vista (with a very crazy boss) I got this in an email...

If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.
If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it.
He sends you flowers every spring.
He sends you a sunrise every morning.
Whenever you want to talk, He listens.
He can live anywhere in the universe, but He chose your heart.
Face it friend, He is crazy about you!
God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow,
or sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day,
comfort for the tears, and light for the way.

At that time, circa 2003/2004, I was going through some stuff and I often found myself very down and easily defeated whether in my personal life or at work (we all know I wasn't cut out to be in the mortgage sales industry). I printed this out one day and put it on my desk under one of those clear desk pads. Every time I would move desks (I had 9 different desks in 3 different offices over the years) the same clipping went with me. To this day I still have it on my desk at home and am looking at it right now.

The reason that I am sharing this is because at church on Sunday this poem was in our bulletin and it made me reminiscent. I have been looking at this poem on a daily basis for almost 6 years now and I still love it, it gives me comfort and hope. I have shed a lot of tears over the years but I have also gained a lot of strength through God and going to church. I am a much stronger person now than I was 5 years ago and while some of that my have come from growing up, a lot is from my faith and trust in God.

Just thought that I would share my favorite poem and some thoughts :)
