What?!?!? Another post in 1 day!!!

I just couldn't wait to share this before and after shot of the entertainment console I got a month or so ago...
And After...
So there it is, let me know what you think!

Kitchen Paint is Done!

But first lets start (as always) with a before shot...
And now for a completely re-done (minus the floors) KITCHEN...
(I used Behr Premium Plus (Low VOC) semi-gloss paint, the color is Indulgent Mocha)
This little laundry area definitely needs some help but aside from buying the new front loaders and building a cabinet, I don't know how to help it out.  Table skirt?  Wicker baskets/bins?

As far as my little curtains go, I wanted to make something that matched for the areas that don't have cabinet doors.  Off to Target I went looking for something that would work and ended up buying the cutest shower curtain that I cut up and made into these three curtains.
I am contemplating getting 2 more to use as the curtains at the back door but I am thinking that it may be too much, what do you think?

For now I am pretty much done, kinda, I will be on the look out for some cute prints to place here and there on the walls but other than that and the flooring, I am DONE!!!

Well I still want to paint that wallpaper on the wall behind the stove but I am to nervous to move the stove and mess with the gas line.  Here is where it will go when I do it...

Ok, so maybe I'm NOT done but I am close :).

Remember the kitchen project...

that I started last May?  Well I am just now putting the final touches on it, practically a year later.  I re-did the counter tops and added a back splash with the help of my friend Jessica in June but nothing has really happened since then.  Wedding season came and I got so busy and just never had time to paint or finish things off.  Soooooo, bottom line is I am currently in the process of painting the kitchen walls a really pretty taupe color and I hope to add this design to the area behind the stove as a little accent.  Then all I need is new flooring in there and voila, I'll be done.  Well at least until I find something else to tweak or change.  I have been really reconsidering our washer/dryer situation, especially with a new baby and all.  We currently have an apartment style stack-able washer/dryer unit but the washer barrel is TINY, and I do mean TINY.
I am really longing to get some front loaders and build a cabinet/counter top around it.  Similar to this...
Yes, I would be going back to the problem I had before with the big machines in the middle of the kitchen but they would be concealed in a cabinet and it would create extra counter space, really a WIN WIN.  I could even buy mismatch machines on craigslist or on clearance from a discount store because they would be in the cabinet!  (I literally thought of that this instant, now I am even more excited to start looking for new machines)

Painted kitchen pics soon, probably next week since I have a wedding this weekend that I will start prepping for tomorrow so I won't finish the paint job till Sunday afternoon.

P.S.  can you tell I am getting my energy back?!?!?!

So how am I feeling?

That seems to be the question everyone is asking me.  Short answer:  tired but good.  Long answer:  I get tired in the evenings, I have waves of nausia in the afternoons and if I eat something to acidic, dairy based, or citric then I have terrible heartburn and an upset stomach but overall I am feeling good.  Honestly I don't feel that bad and I am happy for the icky-ness that I am feeling because that means that things are going good and that makes me feel happy.

Mentally...I am anxious, excited, happy, giddy, a little nervous but overall just so happy to be pregnant and growing a little life inside of me.  When Jeremiah and I went to get the sonogram I told him that it was kind of like an out of body experience because one minute I was looking at this screen with this little baby moving around and its heart was beating but it was just like I was watching a movie or something.  Then all of a sudden it clicked, I realized that the little baby on the screen was mine and was INSIDE me!  It was all at once, exciting, scary and then tear jerking.  I was so anxious just to get to the sonogram to make sure that everything was okay this time that I never stopped to realize that I was about to see our very own child full of life and kicking up a storm.  I was so amazed to see the amount of movement so early and it was weird to see something moving inside of you but not being able to feel it; it was truly surreal.  Now all I want to do is get more sonograms to see our little baby again!

Jeremiah...the is just becoming more and more adorable everyday.  He wants to say hi to my belly (that isn't even big yet) in the mornings and he bugs me everyday about drinking my milk (eww) and taking my vitamins.  I know that he will be an amazing father and I can't wait to see him hold our baby for the 1st time.

I am already designing nurseries and choosing names but I think I'll probably wait till we find out the sex before I start getting to crazy with vision boards and name combos.  For now, I am just napping to battle the exhaustion and waiting patiently to see our little one once again.

We're expecting a little one

I am so happy to report that we are safely entering the last few days of our 1st trimester and we will be expecting a little one in September, just days before my 30th.  I was a little nervous at first because of the last pregnancy but after our 1st doctors appointment and ultrasound I am much more confident and excited.  I was going to wait till I was actually 12 weeks but I just couldn't wait any longer, I woke up this morning and had to share the news and this cute little ultrasound picture...
I have lots of feelings, ideas, names and dreams to share along the way so definitely come back and check in.

Well we got one done...

My wonderful sister came over this past weekend to help me spray paint my furniture.  I decided against priming so we ended up using 3 times the amount of spray paint for one little piece of furniture and therefore I didn't get to paint anything else.  However, I love the way this piece turned out...
In case you don't feel like scrolling down, here is a before picture...
And maybe one more after...

Some new "RAW" living room pieces

I have been collecting some new pieces for our ever evolving living room decor and can't wait to paint them.

First, I got a new desk that I put under my collage of pictures in the "entryway".  It is very cute and petite and in really good condition, best of all it was only $15 at the local DAV.  I am not sure what color, if at all, I will paint this piece.  I don't want everything to look matchy matchy and I have 2 other new pieces that will be getting a fresh coat of off-white paint and maybe a black glaze to them.  Here it is...
The 2nd piece that I got is actually right next to the desk.  It is one of those old, totally tacky 70's end tables and have some really cool detail but the dark out dated wood just screams shag carpet!  I had originally bought it as a new bed/house for little Madeline but once she got in the little cubby with all her bedding she could barely move around so now it is blanket storage.  I plan on making it look a little more like this

in a creamy off-white and I might even do the glaze technique that All Things Thrifty does so well.  Also, this little find was only $15 as well, it is pretty much the going rate for old furniture at the DAV Thrift Store.

Lastly, my most exciting find was just last Friday, my sister came over and told me that she had a feeling that the DAV was going to have some good furniture that day so we headed over and dun duh dun duuuuh, I found this old thing....
It is replacing the falling floating shelve that was below the TV and that was to short to properly hold the cable box and my brother-in-laws PRECIOUS Playstation 3.  I love love love it!!!  I can't wait to paint it creamy off-white and see those 70's details be transformed and updated.  Stay tuned!  Oh and P.S...this find was a whopping $29!!!  I love finding bargains that I can transform :).
